The Literate Academy tutors are highly qualified, skilled individuals who are passionate about education. Our tutors are certified teachers and degreed professionals, all of whom have undergone extensive background and reference checks.  They have varied backgrounds ranging from certified teachers in a variety of subjects to professionals with backgrounds in Biology, Chemistry, English, Computer Science, Math, French, Spanish and much more.  Many have master’s degrees and several have Law and Medical degrees!

	Customized Sessions The The Literate Academy tutoring program is successful because it provides highly individualized, one-on-one instruction in the comfort and security of your home based on a schedule that works for you. Students meet with the same tutor for each session which allows the tutor to really get to know the students strengths and challenges.
	Making Just The Right Match With A Tutor What The Literate Academy does not offer is a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. We arrange to meet with each family in advance of tutoring to ensure the best possible match between a student and their tutor. Tutors are matched with students based on their academic needs but as importantly based on personality to ensure that each student has a positive experience. Our tutors integrate study and organizational skills into each session teaching students the skills that they need to get back on track as well as the skills they will need to help keep them there. They are the students ‘Academic Coach’.
	You Are Involved Every Step Of The Way We arrange to meet with each family in advance of tutoring to ensure the best possible match between a tutor and student. Tutors are matched with students based on their academic needs but as importantly based on personality to ensure that each student has a positive experience.
	Continuous Communication With parents permission our tutors make initial contact with the student’s teacher(s) to get a better understanding of the student’s performance in class and clarify the teacher’s standards for success.  At the end of each tutoring session the tutors have a short conference with the parents.
	Experienced The Literate Academy tutors are experienced, degreed professionals and/or state certified instructors with impeccable credentials and a heartfelt enthusiasm for teaching.
